Zedlacher Paradies hiking trail

A larch forest with centuries-old, gnarled, giant trees awaits you in the Zedlacher Paradies! The ancient, agriculturally cultivated landscape is one of Austria's most beautiful larch forests. Especially in late autumn, the yellow color of the needles creates an impressive natural spectacle.
Awaiting you on the loop trail, which leads you to the most beautiful trees in the Zedlach forest, is additional natural history information and imaginative metal figures by metalworking artist Erich Trost.

We recommend a detour to the Wodenalm (ca. 1 hr.)

Time-on-trail: loop trail ca. 3 hrs.

Golzentipp 2,317 m

The local mountain, the Tilliacher, offers beautiful views, is easy to climb, and is a wonderful excursion destination. Starting from the summit station of the Obertilliach lifts, the path leads left to the ridge and along the ski run up to the summit station of the Glamplift to the Jochsee. Just above the old hay huts, the "Kutterschupfen", is the summit of the Golzentipp.

Time-on-trail: ca. 1 hr.

Nilljochhütte 1,990 m

A large sunny terrace awaits you at the Nilljochhütte with a magnificent panoramic view of the Virgental. The Nilljochhütte is located at the entrance to the Venediger-Höhenweg on the sunny slope of the municipal boundary between Prägraten and Virgen. Route description: the tour starts at the Bodenalm, which you can reach by car via Wallhorn (Prägraten am Großvenediger). Here, you can leave the road and hike along the path through a partly wooded area, continue over a small brook, and then cross the road. The path then leads straight to the Nilljochhütte at an elevation of 1,990 m.

Time-on-trail: ca. 1 hr. 30 min.
