Motorcycle vacation in the Dolomites

Breathtaking

Bikers are welcome here! Our hotel is the perfect starting point for your unforgettable motorcycle tour along the gorgeous mountain roads of East Tyrol and beyond. We provide plenty of space for your motorcycle as well as tips for enjoyable routes. Take a look at these 2 suggestions from our motorcycle enthusiasts below!

On motorcycle around the Großglockner

This tour leads through the Hohe Tauern National Park, offers breathtaking panoramas, and is also suited for motorcyclists who have little experience with alpine roads.

We recommend driving around the Großglockner in a counterclockwise direction. From the Dolomitenhof in Tristach, you will first head in the direction of Carinthia over the Iselsberg towards Heiligenblut. This is where the legendary Großglockner High Alpine Road starts, which leads via numerous switchbacks up to an elevation of 2,504 m. Shortly before the Hochtor, you can take a detour to the Edelweißspitze and/or Franz-Josef-Höhe with a view of the Großglockner and Pasterze, the largest glacier in the Eastern Alps. The drive continues over the Fuschertörl across the border into the state of Salzburg to Zell am See and Mittersill. From here, you will drive along the Felbertauernstraße back to East Tyrol and the Dolomitenhof in Tristach.

Length: 250km, from May to October.

The Stallersattel on motorcycle

Cruising with a panorama! A wonderful tour that takes you from the Dolomitenhof into the Defereggental, which is part of the Hohe Tauern National Park. You will drive through St. Jakob, East Tyrol’s oldest settlement, on a curvy road up to the high plateau of the Stalleralm with the beautiful Obersee. Located here is the border crossing between East Tyrol and South Tyrol/Italy. The route continues through the Antholzer Tal and past the Antholzer See. Out of the valley to Niederrasen, the tour leads left onto the Pustertaler Staatsstraße, which runs through Toblach and Innichen over the border crossing back to East Tyrol. You will then return to the Dolomitenhof via the Pustertal.

Length: 145 km, from May to October.
