Out on the slopes

In less than 4 km, you can reach both ski areas of the Lienzer Bergbahnen. The gentle Zettersfeld is a family ski area with many hours of wonderful sun and rustic huts for refreshments stops. The 2nd local mountain of Lienz is the Hochstein, which is popular with experienced winter sports fans, in section 1 and also offers great opportunities for children to practice.

Lienzer Bergbahnen - Zettersfeld
A stunning panorama of the Dolomites, many hours of sunshine, and a variety of perfectly prepared slopes - this clearly makes the family ski area on the Zettersfeld a paradise for skiers. Here, you have plenty of room to carve down the slopes, and the wait times at the lifts are short. Many rustic huts offer mouth-watering, traditional East Tyrolean cuisine. 

 

Lienzer Bergbahnen - Hochstein
Pure fun and excitement on Lienz's local mountain! The Hochstein ski area, where the women's World Cup race takes place every 2 years, is a paradise for World Cup racers and experienced amateur skiers. The charming retro ski lift will take you up to the Sternalm, where challenging slopes await winter sports lovers. From the Sternalm, a chair lift will take you up to the last station. Starting here is the sensational ski run at an elevation of 1,988 m that leads down into Lienz at an elevation of 668 m. At the 1st of the 3 sections, children and leisurely skiers will get their money's worth. You can reach the Lienzer Bergbahn on the Hochstein by ski bus, car, or even on foot from the historic town center.

Alpine "dolce vita" in the mountains of East Tyrol! After carving down the slopes in the morning, you can enjoy a few sunny hours on the terrace of one of our rustic huts and restaurants. Awaiting you with terrace skiing in spring are individual, regional specialties and of course a spot in the sun with a breathtaking panoramic view.

Großglockner Resort in Kals Matrei
Awaiting you in East Tyrol's largest ski area are 15 state-of-the-art lifts and 270 ha of slopes. The Großglockner Resort connects the towns of Matrei and Kals. You can reach the valley station of Matrei in ca. 25 min. by car from the Dolomitenhof. Via the slopes and lifts, you can also reach Kals am Großglockner. Our tip: a stop for refreshments at the Adler Lounge with a spectacular view of Austria's highest mountains! 

St. Jakob Ski Center
With its Champagne powder snow, unforgettable panoramic view, and perfectly prepared slopes, the St. Jakob Ski Center has been awarded with the state of Tyrol's "Slope Seal of Quality". A splendid panorama of East Tyrol's highest mountains await you at an elevation of 2,500 m. You can reach the St. Jakob ski area from our hotel in ca. 50 minutes by car or by ski bus from our hotel: info and schedule.

Sillian Hochpustertal Ski Center
For leisurely skiers, families, free riders, and snowboarders. Awaiting you in the sunny Sillian ski area at an elevation between 1,100 and 2,400 m are 22 km of perfectly prepared slopes and plenty of room for carving down the mountain. The many refreshment opportunities offer traditional cuisine and a cozy hut atmosphere - this is an important part of a perfect ski day. From the Dolomitenhof, you can reach Sillian by car in ca. 40 minutes or by ski bus.   

Obertilliacher Bergbahnen
On exactly 12.6 km of consistently sunny slopes, beginners, children, and less experienced skiers will find the ideal ski area in Obertilliach. The Golzentipp-Obertilliach ski area is located right in the charming village of Obertilliach and thanks to its location is an absolute paradise for families with small children. The lift rates are particularly reasonable and family-friendly. From the Dolomitenhof, you can easily reach the Golzentipp-Obertilliach ski area by car in a little over an hour or by ski bus.
