Ice skating & tobogganing in Lienz
For the whole familyThe steep rock walls and snow-covered forests around the Tristacher See provide for a special, almost magical ice skating experience! Depending on the thickness of the ice, the lake will be open for ice skating - simply ask our team! You can reach the Tristacher See from the Dolomitenhof in only 7 minutes by car. Entry is free. The municipal ice skating rink right in Lienz is particularly popular with children! For a really special ice skating experience, we recommend a day trip from the Dolomitenhof in Tristach to the Weissensee in Carinthia, which is 47 km away. Here you will find one of the most beautiful lakes in the Alps with a circular ice rink up to 25 km long, ice stock, and ice hockey, as well as a 400 meter track for speed skaters and if you're lucky, you will find surfaces of crystal-clear, mirror-like ice!
Tobogganing in East Tyrol
Tobogganing with friends or the whole family - nothing is more fun! Everyone who spends their vacation in East Tyrol should experience a fun toboggan ride! The toboggan runs mostly lead down the mountain from traditional, rustic huts.
Dolomitenhütte toboggan run
The 4.3 km long toboggan run at the Dolomitenhütte is right by the Dolomitenhof. The shuttle service will take you from the Dolomitenhof up to the Kreithof and on to the Dolomitenhütte, where the shuttle stops at certain times. At the Dolomitenhütte with its unique location at an elevation of 1,620 m, you can enjoy homestyle cooking from hut host Scarlet. The snow-covered toboggan run goes down into the valley towards the Dolomitenhof. A tobogganing experience is even more fun if you tackle the route to the Dolomitenhütte on foot, which takes ca. 1.5 hrs. from the Kreithof.
Tobogganing at the Alpe Stalle
The Alpe Stalle is located in the Defereggental above Maria Hilf. The family toboggan run is 2.8 km long and is floodlit. From the Dolomitenhof, you must take a car or taxi to St. Jakob. From Maria Hilf (St. Jakob), you can walk to the Alpe Stalle in about an hour or take the shuttle. After enjoying specialties such as Tyrolean dumplings, cheese dumplings, Schlipfkrapfen, and homemade curd and apple strudel for those with a sweet tooth, an exciting toboggan ride will take you back down into the valley.
